BusinessCostco celebrates grand opening of Brantford location

Costco Wholesale celebrated the grand opening of its first location in Brantford on Friday, November 8, 2024.

The new warehouse, located at 175 Roy Boulevard, is Costco’s 41st location in Ontario and has created 180 permanent jobs and 80 seasonal jobs, and an opportunity for residents to benefit from the convenience and savings provided by a Costco membership.

“With the opening of this new warehouse, we can serve all of our members in the Brantford and surrounding area, many of whom previously travelled to Ancaster to shop, and bring new consumers and businesses to uncover the benefits of a Costco membership,” said Gino Dorico, Senior Vice-President and Country Manager, Costco Wholesale Canada. “We are very proud to share this new location with our valued existing and new members and member businesses in the local community and throughout the area.”

“The people of Brantford have been incredibly excited about the new, highly anticipated, full-service location in Brantford,” said Kevin Davis, Mayor for the City of Brantford. “This is the perfect time of year to celebrate the amazing things synonymous with Costco, bigger, more selection, more parking, a gas bar, the ultimate in convenience, easy highway access and having all of this at our fingertips just in time for the Christmas shopping season. We are very grateful for the confidence that Costco has shown in Brantford by adding new jobs, which will act as a catalyst in our community.”

The new 159,098 square-foot location features wide aisles and an extensive selection of food offerings. It also includes a large variety of specialty departments, such as an on-site bakery, fresh meat, expansive produce area, rotisserie chicken section, the first Costco sushi department in Ontario (the second in Canada after being launched in Vancouver this summer) and optical centre, including an on-site independent optometrist, a hearing aid centre, five tire centre bays, large food court now serving California eight-piece crab rolls, gas station with 24 pumps and a pharmacy.

With 14 checkout registers and a new self-checkout section with six stations, the warehouse features 850 shopping carts and 813 parking spots.

Like all other Costco Wholesale warehouses, the new Brantford location offers more than 3,800 high-quality items at unbeatable value. The company provides a wide range of products and services for members’ personal use and helps small and medium-size businesses save on both supplies and items for resale.
