County of BrantCounty of Brant to participate in Communities in Bloom

County of Brant announced its participation in the 2025 Communities in Bloom competition on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.

This year’s theme, ‘Edible Gardens’, presents an exciting opportunity for residents to embrace sustainability, food security, and community beautification through gardening.”

“We are excited to once again showcase the natural beauty of the County of Brant through the Communities in Bloom program,” said David Bailey, Mayor for the County of Brant. “With the 2025 theme of ‘Edible Gardens’, we encourage residents to start thinking about how they can incorporate fruits, vegetables, and herbs into their gardens to create beautiful, functional, and sustainable spaces.”

The County of Brant is renowned for its stunning rural landscape, rich farmland, and thriving local businesses that embrace farm-to-table practices. By participating in this year’s competition, the County aims to highlight the importance of growing food locally, reducing environmental impact, and strengthening our relationship with the land, ensuring a more resilient and sustainable future for our community.

Residents are encouraged to start planning their 2025 gardens and explore creative ways to integrate edible plants into their landscapes. Whether through backyard gardens, community plots, or container gardening, everyone can play a role in making the County of Brant greener, more sustainable, and food secure.

Stay tuned for fun and exciting ways to get involved in Communities in Bloom throughout the spring and summer! The County will be launching contests, initiatives, and opportunities for residents to showcase their edible gardens and win exciting prizes.

The County is also looking for businesses and individuals interested in sponsoring planters in downtown Paris that will promote downtown beautification and welcoming the judges during their tour in July.

“Communities in Bloom is about celebrating the beauty, sustainability, and spirit of our community,” said Stacey Ellins, Director of Parks and Recreation. “We can’t wait to see how our residents bring this year’s theme to life and contribute to making the County of Brant an even more vibrant place to live.”
