Investigators with Brant County OPP have determined that a death near Salt Springs Church Rd. is the result of homicide.

The body was first discovered in the afternoon on Nov. 24 and Brant OPP continue to keep a section of Salt Spring Church Rd. closed while they investigate.

Police do not specify what section of Salt Spring Church Rd. is closed but say residents can expected an increased police presence in the area.

The death was not immediately considered a homicide, but police released confirmation of their updated examination on Sunday.

The investigation remains ongoing under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) with help from the Brant OPP Crime Unit, the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario, and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Services.

The OPP ask anyone with information that could assist with this investigation to contact them at 1-888-310-1122.
