Brantford and the County of Brant residents have been hard at work making spirits bright with a variety of holiday décor and lighting displays.
Across the city, homes are anticipating the big arrival of Santa Claus, and all throughout the streets, many areas can be seen glowing from a far.
Homes in Paris, St. George, and Brantford have a variety of displays this year. From an abundance of inflatable Santa’s clutching a teddy bear to the Grinch stealing Christmas lights, reindeers, snowmen and dancing lights, there’s no shortage of displays to check out this holiday season.
In particular, the Dufferin Avenue area has been feeling festive as a multitude of homes have taken it upon themselves to decorate their lawns with 12-foot inflatable Santa’s holding onto a teddy bear.
Facebook groups have said the neighbourhood is out to compete with several other cities who have done something similar. The decorations are a site to see, and many have been seeing how many they can find throughout the area and the city.
Another large attraction takes place in St. George. Christmas Lights on Heron offers an interactive display that takes nearly 120 hours to put together. The display shows from 5:00 to 10:30 p.m. and includes a radio station that visitors can tune into for a special light show.
If you’re looking for the best displays, many Facebook groups, like Brantford Christmas Light Displays, and even certain Neighbourhood Association groups, offer up locations to help residents find the best spots and areas with Christmas décor.
