Hundreds attended the third performance for C.O.R.E. Dance Project Inc’s Fifteen and Fabulous recital at the Sanderson Centre of Performing Arts on Monday, April 10, 2023.

The Paris dance studio started in 2008 and celebrated its 15-year anniversary with two performance days and three shows.

The interactive “Munchkin” level show with children five and under, took place during the day on Saturday, April 8, and the two full studio shows took place Saturday and Monday evening.

Due to previous pandemic restrictions over the past three years, this is the first costume show the dance studio has had since. Last year’s show was in-person but performers danced in black and without full costumes.

Nicole MacAvelia, owner of C.O.R.E. Dance Project Inc., spoke about how the show was a great way to communicate with the audience how special dance can be for young kids and the close bonds that come out of it.

“You know… one of the highlights in creating this studio was creating this all inclusive dance family, she said. “The dance family is something above and beyond and it’s so neat. You’ve seen them crying, you’ve seen them when they’re sick, you see them at their best laughing and kidding around at the end of the night when they are tired, you even see them eating or napping around the studio. So, I think our recital is really just an opportunity for everybody to feel like they’re part of that C.O.R.E. family.”
