Man facing ten charges after threatening employee

Brantford Police ServiceMan facing ten charges after threatening employee

Members of the Brantford Police Service, along with the assistance of the Brantford Police Service’s Tactical Intelligence Enforcement Response Unit (T.I.G.E.R), completed a firearms investigation on Sunday, April 23, 2023.

At approximately 2:00 a.m., officers with the Brantford Police were dispatched to attend an entertainment business located on Market Street, after receiving a report of a male uttering threats to an employee.

Police investigation revealed that the male suspect had threatened an employee with a firearm.

Officers quickly located the suspect who was inside of a motor vehicle that was located in the parking lot of the business. The male was arrested by members of the BPS patrol section and K-9 unit. A search of the motor vehicle revealed a loaded firearm.

Additionally, investigation revealed that the accused was in violation of three firearm prohibition orders.

As a result of the investigation, Jory FOURTOUUNES, 38, stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:

  • Criminal harassment x2
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm 
  • Prohibited device-magazine
  • Carry in unsafe manner, weapons dangerous
  • Unauthorized possession
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession
  • Firearm in motor vehicle
  • Prohibited or restricted: with ammunition
  • Possession contrary to order 

The accused was held for bail.
