Officers with the Brantford Police Service conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling on Grey Street on Saturday, April 12, 2025.
Two occupants were within the vehicle, a male driver, and female passenger.
When speaking with the driver, officers observed a firearm in plain view within the vehicle. The man and woman were arrested, and two firearms seized as a result of the traffic stop by patrol officers.
Search incident to arrest located the following items in the vehicle:
•.22 Caliber rifle – modified (prohibited firearm)
•Imitation firearm
•Revolver (altered serial markings)
•Drug paraphernalia, including pipes and a digital scale
•Approximately 127.3 grams of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of $12,700
•A stolen passport and Ontario Health Card
As a result of the traffic stop, a 34-year-old man and 33-year-old woman, both from Mt. Pleasant, each stand charged with the following offences:
•Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose x2
•Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x2
•Careless Use/Storage of a Firearm x2
•Possession of a Firearm with Altered Serial Number
•Unauthorized Possession in Motor Vehicle x2
•Possession of Prohibited Firearm x2
•Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x2
•Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking- Schedule 1- Cocaine
•Possession of an Identity Document x2
Both accused were held for a bail hearing.
