Members of the Brantford Police Service High Enforcement Action Team (HEAT) and the Brantford Police Service Tactical Intelligence Generated Enforcement and Response Unit (TIGER) conducted a drug trafficking investigation and have arrested and charged a 43-year-old Oakland man with multiple offences.

On September 5, 2024, members of the Brantford Police Service Emergency Response Team (ERT) and K9 Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant at a Sheridan Street residence.

During the search of the residence, officers located the following:

  • A loaded 9mm handgun
  • A 20-guage shotgun
  • A 22-250 rifle
  • Approximately 143.4 grams of suspected Cocaine
  • Approximately 39.8 grams of suspected Fentanyl
  • A large amount of Canadian Currency
  • Packaging and other materials consistent with drug trafficking

At the time of the search, the suspect was bound by a firearm prohibition order stemming from previous Criminal Code convictions.

As a result of this investigation, a 43-year-old man from Oakland, was arrested, held for bail, and stands charged with the following:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x 2
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm x 3
  • Careless storage of firearm x 3
  • Possession of Firearm contrary to prohibition order x 3
  • Possession prohibited firearm with ammunition
  • Tampering with a firearm’s serial number
