Ohsweken man charged with impaired driving

On Friday, November 26, 2021, at approximately 1:00 a.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to the area of Wayne Gretzky Parkway and Colborne Street, for a male reported to be passed out behind the driver’s wheel of a motor vehicle. 
Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle, facing southbound on Wayne Gretzky Parkway. The vehicle was stopped in the left turning lane. Officers observed a man who appeared to be asleep behind the wheel.
In speaking with the driver, officers observed signs of intoxication. The accused was subsequently arrested for Impaired Operation and transported to provide samples of his breath as required by law. Both samples provided exceeded twice the legal limit.
As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old man from Ohsweken, stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations: 
  • Operation While Impaired 
  • 80 Plus 
Additionally, a licence suspension was issued, and the vehicle impounded as per law.
