Ohsweken man facing multiple charges after traffic stop

On Friday, January 10, 2025, at approximately 9:10 p.m., while on patrol, officers  observed a vehicle almost fail to stop for the posted stop sign at the intersection of Third Line Road and Tuscarora Road.

Officers followed the vehicle and observed that it was unable to maintain the lane. Police conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the male driver. Signs of impairment were observed on the driver. Upon a search of the vehicle after arrest, police located a prohibited weapon in the  vehicle. The weapon was seized by police for public safety.  

As a result of the investigation, police have arrested and charged Carmie Skye (23-years-old) of Ohsweken, Ontario with the following offences: 

– Impaired Operation 

– Alcohol per se Offence “80 plus”  

– Dangerous Driving  

– Drive Motor Vehicle – No Licence  

– Prohibited Weapon in Motor Vehicle 

The accused is scheduled to appear at Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford,  Ontario on February 21, 2025. The vehicle was impounded for seven days.
