BusinessParis Chamber of Commerce launches print version of business directory

Paris and District Chamber of Commerce announced the launch of the printed version of the “Love Local Brant” Business and Services Directory to support businesses and to encourage people in the County of Brant to shop local on March 7.

The purpose of the program is to support Canada’s small businesses and economic recovery. Small businesses are cornerstones of our local economies and key to thriving communities—creating jobs, driving innovation, and generating wealth for Canadians.

“Local businesses have always been there for us and need our support now more than ever,” said Susan Morton, President of the Paris and District Chamber of Commerce. “Together, we can make a difference for local businesses and help move our economic recovery forward.”

The Shop Local initiative, in partnership with the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, is designed to help small business successfully recover from the pandemic.

In 2021, the County of Brant released a guide series consisting of businesses (and destinations) represented in the areas of retail, dining, farm markets & visitor excursions. The ‘Love Local’ Brant Business and Services Directory’, positioned as a complimentary extension to this series, will further serve residents with a convenient, easy to use listing of local businesses within the Personal Services, Health Care & Related Industries and Business Services categories, that are not already included within the existing guides.

“As our economy begins to safely reopen, Shop Local initiatives will encourage Canadians to support their local small businesses, helping them to recover quicker. As we work to get through this pandemic, we all have a role to play to support small business owners and entrepreneurs,” added Morton.

The purpose of Shop Local is to respond to the unique circumstances in regions across the country and allow chambers of commerce/boards of trade to tailor campaigns to local needs and priorities, and ultimately help small businesses as they recover from this unprecedented public economic crisis.
