Brantford police have charged a 33-year-old man in connection with a home invasion Sunday afternoon.

Officers responded around 4 p.m. to a house on Charing Cross St. near Sydenham St. after receiving a report of a disturbance involving a weapon.

Investigators say the accused continuously kicked the house door when the victim refused to allow him inside. After the victim opened the door, a fight broke out between the two men. The accused was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the victim was not injured.

Police say no firearms were located. The area was closed to motorists and pedestrians as officers investigated, but it has since reopened.

A 33-year-old Brantford man has been arrested and charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm, Break and Enter with Intent, and Breach of Probation.

Investigators say the accused and victim were known to each other.
