Police investigate serious assault in Brantford

One man remains in critical condition after he was seriously assaulted in Brantford on Sunday morning.

Brantford Police responded to an address on Market St. around 8:30 a.m. after learning of a man who suffered a serious assault.

Officers located a 68-year-old man within a residence on Market St. who received life-threatening injuries as a result of the attack.

The man was taken to hospital by Brant-Brantford Paramedics where he remains in critical condition at this time.

Members of the Brantford Police Service Major Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Section have taken over the investigation.

Residents can expect a police presence in the Market Street area into Monday as their investigation into this incident continues.

Police have not made any arrests at this time but they do believe this to be a targeted incident.

The investigation is active and information updates will be provided when available.
