Predators Series Breaks the Mold in Crime Fiction

Local NewsPredators Series Breaks the Mold in Crime Fiction

Anthony Karrier, an author from Southern Ontario, is shaking up the crime fiction scene with his hard-hitting novels Apex Predators and its sequel, Hunting Predators.

Rooted in the grit and realism of Karrier’s own experiences as a boxer and ironworker, these books reject the traditional “good vs. evil” crime story, instead offering a brutally honest look at power, survival, and corruption.

Apex Predators unfolds across Southern Ontario, pulling readers into a world where justice is murky, and the line between cop and criminal is almost nonexistent. Karrier’s protagonist, Mike Wolly, is no clean-cut hero—he’s a fighter, both in the ring and on the streets, trying to survive in a world that doesn’t play fair. The novel’s antagonist, Steve, is a cop, but not a conflicted one—he’s a man who abuses his authority without hesitation, making him just as dangerous as the criminals he hunts.

The second novel, Hunting Predators, shifts the setting to the wild landscapes of British Columbia, where Mike is forced to navigate new dangers far from the streets he knows. With the same unflinching realism that made Apex Predators so gripping, Karrier expands his brutal, high-stakes world, proving that survival isn’t just about strength; it’s about knowing when to strike and when to run.

For crime fiction readers tired of formulaic plots and predictable heroes, Karrier’s work offers something different; a raw, unapologetic portrayal of the realities of crime, power, and the people caught in between.

Fans will have a chance to meet the author in person at Smash N Axes Emporium (Unit 4B, 603 Colborne St East, Brantford, ON) on March 22nd at 3:00 PM, where Karrier will host a book signing and Q&A.

Both Apex Predators and Hunting Predators are available on Amazon. To learn more, visit anthonykarrier.com or follow the official Facebook page at Anthony Karrier’s Predator Series for updates and news.
