Red Sox name new vice-president and assistant GM

Brantford Red SoxRed Sox name new vice-president and assistant GM

Brantford Red Sox named their new vice-president and assistant general manager on Monday, March 31, 2025.

Effective immediately, Connie Pomerleau will serve as vice-president of the Brantford Red Sox, while Chad Pomerleau has been officially named assistant general manager.

The two important leadership appointments honour the deep roots and dedication of the Pomerleau family, while also looking ahead to a bright and exciting future. These appointments not only reflect the continued commitment of the Pomerleau family to the organization, but also recognize their tireless contributions and passion for Red Sox baseball in Brantford.

“It’s an incredible honour to step into this role with the Red Sox,” said Connie Pomerleau. “This team has been a part of our family for years, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to help shape its future. We care deeply about this organization, the fans, and the community, and I’m excited to work alongside such a dedicated group to keep building something special here in Brantford.”

Connie and her family have been cornerstones of the Brantford Red Sox for many years, offering unwavering support both behind the scenes and in the stands. From game-day operations to community outreach, the Pomerleau’s have always done their best to support the players, fans, and the team. Their dedication has helped sustain and elevate the Red Sox through numerous seasons and challenges, embodying the true spirit of community.

Terry Smith, new owner of the Red Sox, addressed the appointment of Connie as vice-president.

“It is tremendous that Connie is going to be our vice-president. I asked her to be our vice-president because I have such a huge amount of respect for Connie and for the incredible amount of work that she, Rick, Chad, and her family have done for the Red Sox for all these years. Connie has an extraordinary amount of knowledge that will be invaluable for us as we work together to build a team and a club that everyone in Brantford will be very proud of,” said Smith. “Connie has always had a deep love for the Red Sox, and so for us to have someone helping to lead us who has so much knowledge and so much love for the team is of immeasurable value for our fans, for our Brantford communities, and for our entire Brantford Red Sox organization.”

Chad Pomerleau, who has already been actively involved in team operations, brings energy, knowledge, and a fresh perspective to the front office. As Assistant GM, he will continue to work closely with team leadership to build a strong and competitive roster.

“It’s a real privilege to take on this role with the Red Sox” said Chad Pomerleau. “I’m looking forward to learning more from Terry and I’m excited to keep building something great alongside Connie and the rest of our leadership group. We have a lot of pride in this organization, and I can’t wait to help deliver a season our fans will be proud of.”

Smith also expressed his excitement about Chad’s acceptance of the assistant General Manager role.

“We are very happy that Chad has become our assistant General Manager. I asked Chad to be our assistant General Manager because he is an outstanding young man with great character, and because he is very caring and very thoughtful with everyone. The knowledge and experience he has gained from the two years he has worked as the GM of the Red Sox will be tremendously beneficial to the Club as we build for the long-term future,” Smith said. “Chad has already been contributing greatly this pre-season with his knowledge of players, training facilities, and our stadium, and he will continue to be extremely valuable for our fans and for the Red Sox when we host our home games this season that are going to be very exciting and entertaining for everyone.”

The Brantford Red Sox are deeply grateful for everything Connie, Chad, and the entire Pomerleau family have done, and continue to do, for the team. This next chapter builds on that legacy while bringing exciting new opportunities for the organization and its fans.
