Ohsweken man facing multiple charges after traffic incident

An impaired driver has been charged after they failed to obey the stop sign at an intersection.  

members of the Six  Nations Police were on patrol when they observed a vehicle disobey the stop sign at Fifth Line and Onondaga Road at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, December 15, 2024.

Officers conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle and spoke with the male driver of the vehicle. Signs of impairment were observed on the driver. The driver was issued an Approved Screening Device demand, which resulted in a failed result.  

As a result of the investigation, police have arrested and charged Alan Emarthle (60-years-old) from Ohsweken, Ontario with the following offences:

– Impaired Operation 

– Alcohol per se Offence “80 plus” 

– Disobey Stop Sign  

– Drive Motor Vehicle

– No Licence 

– Use Plate Unauthorized for Motor Vehicle  

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford, Ontario on January 23, 2025. The vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Police charge Ohsweken resident with Impaired Operation

After receiving information about a motor vehicle operating in an unsafe manner, an individual has been charged with multiple offences.  

On Saturday, December 7, 2024, at approximately 7:45 a.m., officers with the Six Nations Police were advised of a traffic complaint near the intersection of Fourth Line and Chiefswood Road.

Officers attended the area and observed a vehicle matching the description provided and observed the vehicle to be driving erratically. Officers conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle on Fourth Line Road. Police approached the vehicle and observed a female driver and passenger. Signs of impairment were observed on the female driver. Drug paraphernalia was also located.  

As a result of the investigation, police have arrested and charged Wanda Henhawk (60-years-old) from Ohsweken, Ontario with the following offences: 

– Impaired Operation 

– Dangerous Driving  

– Possession  

– Driving while under Suspension  

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford, Ontario on January 16, 2025. The vehicle was impounded for seven days. 

24-year-old woman facing Mischief charge

An individual has been charged with Mischief after damaging a vehicle by throwing a rock.  

members of the Six Nations Police were advised of a traffic complaint that resulted in a motor vehicle being damaged at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2024.

The complainant advised police that following a potential collision, a female driver exited her vehicle and began yelling at the complainant.  The female driver proceeded to throw a rock at the complainant’s vehicle, causing  damage. The female driver was later identified.  

As a result of the investigation, police have arrested and charged Kelsey Burning (24-years-old) from Ohsweken, Ontario with the following offences:

– Mischief under $5,000  

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford, Ontario on January 23, 2025.
