Members of the Brant County Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) executed three search warrants on a residence in the Town of Paris and a residence in the City of Brantford on Thursday, June 1, 2023.
CSCU was joined by Oxford, Haldimand/Norfolk and Wellington CSCU, West Region Tactical Rescue Unit (TRU) and Emergency Response Unit (ERT), London Regional Support Unit (RST), Urban Search and Rescue Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive Disposal Unit (UCRT) and K9 Units.
As a result of the execution of the three warrants, police seized Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, Hydromorphone and Cocaine. The estimated value of the seized controlled substances is over $18,000.
Police also seized a quantity of offence related property consisting of numerous 3D printers, computer, and miscellaneous equipment to produce illegal firearm receivers along with a homemade mold device for homemade bullets, along with lead bullets produced from the device were also seized. The estimated value of all seized property is over $7,000.
Six people were arrested and charged in relation to this incident.
Aaron STEER, 39-years-old, from the County of Brant has been charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of Trafficking – two counts
Paula UNDERWOOD, 41-years-old, from the County of Brant has been charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance
Gabrielle STEWART, 32-years-old, from the City of Brantford has been charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance
Benjamin POND, 38-years-old, from the County of Brant has been charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of Trafficking – five counts
Nathan ANDERSON, 36-year-old, from the City of Brantford has been charged with:
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm – two counts
- Trafficking in Firearm, weapon, device, or ammunition
Corey MACAULAY, 52-year-old, from the City of Brantford has been charged with:
- Unauthorized possession of a Weapon
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition contrary to a Prohibition order – two counts
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
STEWART and MACCAULEY were released on Form 10’s with court scheduled for a future date.
STEER, UNDERWOOD, POND and ANDERSON were held in custody pending the results of bail hearings.
