With summer well underway, community programs are in full swing for residents of all ages in the County of Brant and City of Brantford. 

In addition to day camps, the municipalities are each hosting a number of ongoing events throughout the summer months.

County of Brant Programs 

Park Patrol 

Weekdays from 9-11 a.m.

Join County of Brant staff at your nearest park for FREE outdoor fun with crafts, games and other activities every weekday morning until Friday, August 26.

Movie Nights

Outdoor movie nights return this summer with five family favourite releases.

The County of Brant, in partnership with the Library, has two storybook walks set up in parks in the county.

City of Brantford Programs

Roller Skate Nights 

Mondays & Wednesdays – 6:30-7:30 p.m. & 8-9 p.m. 

Kick it old school with a live DJ and skate party at Harmony Square. Retro Rollers skate rentals available on-site ($10.00 per pair to rent. Debit and credit available). Sizes range from J12 to adult size 15. Attendance is limited and registration is required. 

Music in the Square

Fridays – 7-8:30 p.m. 

Local musicians from an array of genres take the stage every week at Harmony Square. 

July 22 – Telephone City Musical Society – Favourites from movies, musicals, and classics.

July 29 – Jeff Madden – One of Toronto’s top musical stars entertains with today’s favourite musical theatre hits!

August 5 – Cher and Freddy Mercury Tribute – Tribute to Cher featuring Kara Chandler from Brantford and Freddie Mercury featuring Sean Hauk also from Brantford.

August 12 – Twin Spin – 50’s, 60’s and beyond.

August 19 – BarCode – Celebrating 19 years of the best live music, bar none!

August 26 – Garrett Vandenburg – Indie rock infused singer, & songwriter.

August 28 – WindWerx – WindWerx performs a quirky mix of classical and contemporary music on a variety of wind instruments designed to appeal to all tastes and all ages. (Sunday 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.) 

September 2 – Corner Pocket – An exciting 6 piece dance band performing classics from the 1960’s through to today.

September 4 – Brantford Community Symphony Orchestra – Join the Brantford Community Symphony in our 11th year of music making for an afternoon of lovely tunes to sit and enjoy in the sunshine! (Sunday 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.)

Chess in the Square

Tuesday and Thursdays – 12:00 – 2:00 p.m.

Join the Brantford Chess Club for an afternoon of recreational chess. No previous experience required. Tournaments to be held on Sunday, July 24 and Sunday, August 21 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Playdates in the Square

Wednesdays – 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.

Join the Brantford Public Library for an outdoor playdate with giant games, bubbles, cool treats, and more.

Fitness in the Square

Join the Brantford YMCA for free fitness classes at Harmony Square. Bring your own water bottle, yoga mat and/or towel to each class. No experience necessary, must be 14 or older to attend.

HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training)

Mondays – 7:15 – 8:00 a.m. (July 4 to August 29) (No program on August 1)

Yoga

Tuesdays – 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. 

BodyFit
