City of BrantfordTemporary closures expected on Wayne Gretzky Parkway

Following the successful completion of the initial phase of the Wayne Gretzky Parkway Pedestrian Bridge Rehabilitation project on December 4, 2023, the final phase is scheduled to commence, returning the bridge to its original location.

Temporary closures on January 15, 2024

The fully rehabilitated bridge superstructure will be transported and installed on-site on January 15, 2024.

To facilitate this, one southbound lane on Wayne Gretzky Parkway between Morton Avenue E and Henry Street will be temporarily closed from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for the delivery of the rehabilitated superstructure.

Starting at 7:00 p.m. on January 15 until 7:00 a.m. the following morning, all southbound lanes on Wayne Gretzky Parkway will be temporarily closed between Morton Avenue E and Henry Street.

The Wayne Gretzky Parkway Trail between Morton Avenue E and Henry Street will also be closed on January 15, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. the following morning.

“We recognize the impact these temporary closures have on the community and express gratitude for your understanding and patience during the closures. The City of Brantford remains steadfast in its dedication to enhancing infrastructure for the benefit of all residents, contributing to the ongoing improvement of our community. Thank you for your cooperation as we continue to build a better Brantford,” said the City of Brantford in the release.
