Officers with the Brantford Police Service responded to a residence located on Fifth Avenue after receiving a report of a woman who had been assaulted at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2022.
Police were provided information that Emergency Medical Services were transporting a 24-year-old female to hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries as she had been found unconscious after allegedly being assaulted the previous evening.
Officers attended the scene, and after investigation, three individuals were taken into custody.
As a result of the investigation, a 17-year-old female, a 16-year-old female and a 20-year-old male, each stand charged with Aggravated Assault causing bodily harm.
As the accused females are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the names of the accused will not be released in this case.
The Brantford Police Service would like to advise the public that there is no threat to public safety as a result of this incident. The involved parties were known to each other.
This investigation is active and ongoing.
