After receiving complaints from the public about gun shots being heard in the area, two individuals have been arrested and charged with various Criminal Code offences.  

Members of the Six Nations Police responded to complaints of gun shots being heard on Indian Line Road at approximately 5:45 p.m. on Monday, August 5, 2024.

When officers arrived in the area, more gun shots were heard. The officers were able to determine an area of where the shots were coming  from so officers approached the area and observed a male holding a firearm. The male was instructed to drop the firearm. The male discarded the firearm inside of a residence on the property.

Officers were able to determine that there was a second individual inside of the residence, with the firearm. The second individual was instructed to exit the residence. The male was compliant and exited the residence without incident. Several firearms, a prohibited weapon and ammunition were seized from the residence.  

As a result of the investigation, police have arrested and charged Steven SCOTT (36 years old) of Ohsweken, ON with the following criminal offences: 

– Firearm: Unauthorized Possession  

– Firearm: Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession 

– Weapon: Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose 

– Firearm, Weapon, Ammunition: Careless Use 

– Discharging Firearm – Recklessness 

– Firearm or Weapon: Possession contrary to Prohibition Order 

Also arrested and charged is Kevin THOMAS (40 years old) of Ohsweken, ON with the following  criminal offences: 

– Firearm: Unauthorized Possession 

– Firearm: Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession 

– Fail to Comply with Release Order – Other Than to Attend Court  

Both accused were remanded into custody pending a formal bail hearing on a later date
